Norway’s Foreign Minister met with the Palestinian leadership

12.01.2017 // The Norwegian Minister of Foreign Affairs Børge Brende met with President Mahmoud Abbas, Prime Minister Dr Rami Hamdallah and Foreign Minister Riad Malki on Wednesday (11 January 2017).

Mr Brende had very productive meetings with the Palestinian leadership. They discussed the latest political developments, regional issues and joint efforts to reach a two state solution. Bilateral relations were also discussed.

Mr Brende planned ahead towards the next meeting of the donor group Ad Hoc Liaison Committee (AHLC)  with the President and the Prime Minister. The meeting is to be held in Brussels in the spring.

The Norwegian Foreign Minister reassured the Palestinian Prime Minister of Norway’s commitment to support of strengthening of the Palestinian economy and institutions and the realization of the two-state solution. 

The strong relationship between the Palestinian and Norwegian governments was highlighted.
