DFM Bård Glad Pedersen visited Palestine on 4 – 6 March. This was his first visit to Palestine. The aim of the visit was to follow up on the Donors’ Conference to Palestine for the Reconstruction of Gaza held in Cairo on 12 October, and to plan for the Norwegian Chaired Ad Hoc Liaison Committee meeting to be convened in Brussels later this spring.

The disbursement is the first of three planned tranches for 2015, totalling NOK 200 mill. The PA is in the midst of a severe liquidity crisis, primarily as a consequence of Israel’s withholding of clearance revenues transfers to the PA since January 2015. For this reason, Norway has decided to frontload a part of its contribution for 2015.
