Nora's Sisters Seminar - Women in Politics, 8-9 March 2008.

19/03/2008 :: The Seminar started with the Premier performance of the play Nora "A Doll's House" by Henrik Ibsen, on the evening of the International Women Day 8 March 2008. On Sunday 9 March, the Norwegian MP, Ms. Inga Marte Thorkildsen gave a speech on Women in Politics in Norway and related to her personal experience serving 2nd term in the Parliament at the age of 31. Mr. George Ibrahim, General Director of Al Kasaba Theatre & Cinemateque, talked about Nora "A Doll's House" and other women characters in the plays of Henrik Ibsen. Ms. Ba Clemetsen, Festival Co-ordinator at the Norwegian National Theatre conveyed a greeting from the National Theatre - Norway. A Panel of 4 Palestinian Women representing different spheres of Palestinian Political and Social life, presented their views on the achievements and challenges of women in Politics in Palestine. Many participants voiced their opinions and also focused on the shortcomings and opportunities in the Palestinian Society today. The Seminar was attended by 370 Women from all over the West Bank.
